The TMI Group LLC was founded in 2003 to provide consultation on medical electronic product development activity. This work develops innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex design challenges that support reduced time-to-market objectives. The TMI Group provides a systematic and focused approach to medical device product development from the initial concept or business need to the final production device.

About the founder
Mr. Lauren Pflugrath has over 15 years of experience in the medical electronics industry and has been responsible for the development of several medical devices. He has extensive knowledge of ultrasound technology and its clinical application in cardiology, radiology, vascular, obstetrics, gynecology and emergency medicine. He is skilled in identifying and implementing simple and innovative solutions that resolve complex issues. He has led several 10 to 50 person development teams from the initial device concept to the completed product phase. His strength is his demonstrated ability to motivate design teams to excel in meeting critical objectives with enthusiasm. One of his notable projects became the flagship product for Sonosite, the ATL spin off company now celebrating shipment of their 11,000th hand held unit.
Mr. Pflugrath received his BS degree form DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix Arizona. He then held several design and management positions at Boeing. During the last 15 years he has worked at ATL, now Philips, as a director of engineering. He holds 14 medical device related patents and was a member of the Sr. Technology Staff responsible for system architecture. His ongoing career education and training includes: Stanford: AEA Executive Institute (mini MBA) 1991, Stanford; Financial Management for the Non Financial Manager 1995, Cal Tech; Streamlining the Product Development Process 2001, on site; Design For Six Sigma DFSS 2002.
